music by Edison Studio – live computer soundtrack
live electronics: Mauro Cardi, Luigi Ceccarelli, Alessandro Cipriani
En Dirigeable sur les champs de bataille is the name of a 78-minute film (in Bologna presented a 20 minute extract) recently, we are told in a BBC film, discovered in the archives of the French army in Paris.
The pilot was Jacques Trolley de Prévaux. His cameraman was Lucien Lesaint. In August and September 1919 they filmed the remains of the Western front, from Nieuwpoort, on the North Sea in Belgium, to the Swiss Alps. After almost 100 years, the Cineteca di Bologna has commissioned the soundtrack of this documentary to the collective of composers Edison Studio for the live performance in Piazza Maggiore. The music of Edison Studio, imbued with sound suggestions, environments, voices reciting letters from the front, memories of lost sounds, is also presented in Rome on the final evening of the “Sounds of Silences 2020” Competition as part of the RomaEuropa Festival in a recorded version.
