Aus der Ferne
for guitar, cello and percussion

The motive of the perpetuum mobile from the Scherzo of Mahler’s second symphony and the incipit of “Der Abschied” are the elements of a soundscape made of demolition, shrapnel, and wind. The audience
enters and leaves this sonic space through a small theatrical device. From this world seen “aus der Ferne”, the small voice of Hind Rajab, the little girl killed by the IDF on 29 January 2024, tries to emerge.
