Hind (2025)

On 29 January 2024, the Israeli forces army killed the Palestinian girl Hind Rajab along with six other
members of her family and two paramedics coming to her rescue. After surviving the bombing of the
car they were travelling in, Hind and her cousin managed to contact the Palestinian Red Crescent to ask
for help. The recordings made by the operators, still available online, were probably their last words.
The soundscape of the work articulates collapses, debris, voices and sounds retrieved from numerous
documents dedicated to the invasion of Gaza. The audience enters and leaves this sonic space through a
seemingly light theatrical device. From this world, Hind’s small voice tries to emerge. The second in a
series of works I intend to dedicate to her, “Hind” for ensemble is a contribution to lifting the veils, our
own.

Il 29 gennaio 2024 l’esercito israeliano ha ucciso la piccola bambina palestinese Hind Rajab insieme ad
altri sei membri della sua famiglia e due paramedici accorsi in suo aiuto. Dopo essere sopravvissute al
bombardamento dell’automobile dove si trovavano, Hind e sua cugina erano riuscite a contattare la
Mezzaluna Rossa Palestinese per chiedere aiuto. Quelle registrate dagli operatori e ancora disponibili
in rete sono state probabilmente le loro ultime parole.
Il paesaggio sonoro del lavoro articola, crolli, detriti, voci e suoni recuperati dai molti documenti
dedicati all’invasione di Gaza. Ci si entra e se ne esce attraverso un piccolo dispositivo teatrale, leggero,
apparentemente. Da questo mondo cerca di emergere la piccola voce Hind.
Secondo di una serie di lavori che intendo dedicarle, Hind per ensemble è un contributo per sollevare i
