Production of Electroacoustic Works

One of the most significant activities of Edison Studio is dedicated to the creation and live performance of electro-acoustic soundtracks for silent films of the 10s and 20s, including 4 silent masterpieces: Alfred Hitchcock’s “Blackmail”; “Inferno”, the first Italian feature film, about Dante’s journey to hell, “Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari” the “cult” film of German expressionism, and “The Potemkin Battleship”, Sergei Ejzenstejn’s masterpiece.

Collective Composition

Edison Studio’s soundtracks follow a sound script built in close relationship with each film. These works in which music, voices and sound environments merge, arise from a practice of collective composition that the authors of Edison Studio have consolidated over time and which makes their production unique in its kind.
